Skipper's Report

We are joined onboard with a group from Top Deck and independent travellers, one of whom cruised with us some 3 years ago when Skipper Timo was crew and apparently had short hair and rosy cheeks ( he hasn't changed much, maybe just the long hair)

This cruise was jam-packed with wildlife encounters an usual sighting of a yellow-bellied sea snake while kayaking in the evening. Though sea snakes are occasional visitors to New Zealand’s waters, they are considered a native species this is because they arrive here naturally from time to time on ocean currents (rather than by human transportation). While snorkling the next day the group spot a huge stingray, the length of 2 people! and it that wasn't enough we were escorted back to Paihia by bottlenose dolphins.
