YHA New Zealand now has a new floating hostel!

The Rock Overnight Cruise is YHA New Zealand’s newest hostel and it floats!

Sleeping up to 36 people, The Rock is a two story custom built vessel that offers guests a chance to enjoy almost everything the Bay has to offer. From fantastic fishing and kayaking to snorkeling and swimming in subtropical waters. These activities are shared with on-board offerings downstairs, including a spacious living area, bar, pool table, lounge, piano and open fire.

What’s more, every upstairs room opens directly onto an outer balcony with sea views. These are perfect for watching a beautiful sunrise or for viewing the spectacular scenery and Bay of Island’s wildlife.

The overnight cruise runs for 22 hours, from 5 pm till 3 pm the following day. It is suitable for travellers of all ages, especially those who enjoy great company, new experiences and don’t mind getting their feet wet.

The floating hostel, which is run by Sarah and Jonny Greener, has an impressive 91% percent ranking among guests according to independent travel review site rankers.co.nz.
