Hi Sarah Two of us have booked seats on your RockTheBoat cruise and will be driving up from Auckland the evening before. Hence we will have almost a full day free before departure. Please could you recommend some activities / tourist attractions for us to consider before RockTheBoat? It doesn't have to be in the immediate area, we don't mind driving. Thanks very much! Julius

Hi Julius, You would have time to see the Waitangi Treaty Grounds www.waitangi.net.nz, pop over to historical Russell www.russellnz.co.nz, or try parasailing in Paihia, take a kayak for a paddle up the river, prehaps do a waka tour nicktipene@hotmail.com Hopefully a combination of those would full up your day in Paihia.

I've got some friends coming over at Xmas. They have kids, between 8-10 yrs old - is your trip suitable for families?
2:40 p.m. Friday, 13 March 2009
Hi Allan, The cruise is fine for families. We regularly have groups with children on the boat. We do ask that families take a private cabin. We have a family cabin available that has a double bed and two single beds that would suit a family of four. You might like to read Jo's comments on the customer comment blog. They brought their 4 children out and had a ball.

Is it too cold to go on the cruise during May? We may need dry suit to snorkel!:) Is there any heat in the boat? do you include thick blanket and pillow? How many bathrooms is in the boat? Can we get private bathroom?extra fee? When is the best season to go on the cruise so that I can enjoy all the included activities? When is the best season to see wildlife, especially the penguin and special birds? When is the best season for snapper and grouper fishing? Thank you.

Hi Mimi Our final cruise will be on the 2nd of May. The water will be a bit cooler but we do have wetsuits onboard. We also have an fireplace on the boat for the evenings. Guests are asked to bring their own sleeping bags but if you are not travelling with one we have them for hire at $6 per person. All the bathrooms onboard are shared bathrooms. We see penguins and sea birds all year round. Snapper is definitely easier fishing in summer and we don't fish for grouper onboard the boat. You will be able to enjoy the activities any time of year but you will need to come with appropriate clothing if you do join us near the end of the season as it does get colder in the evenings. Safe Travels.
