Bay of Islands
Jewel of the Winterless North
Just three hours north of Auckland lies 144 unspoiled sub-tropical islands and a myriad of secluded beaches. These are world renowned for game fishing and abundant marine life including wild dolphins, penguins and occasionally Orca. The islands have many examples of the area’s rich Maori history. The calm waters, sandy beaches and exhilarating scenery, makes it obvious first choice for international sailing yachts as well as Kiwi holiday makers. This natural beauty of the Bay of Islands has to be seen to be believed and shouldn’t be rushed.
Over half our guests travel north to do The Rock’s Overnight Cruise and many arrive here and realise that this region is a very special part of New Zealand that they haven’t allocated enough time for. So even if you are on a short NZ visit allow at least three days to properly explore this region.
